Khaldoon Al Mubarak says that the club will not be sacking manager Manuel Pellegrini

Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak says that the club will not be sacking manager Manuel Pellegrini despite widespread reports of the same.

The Chilean failed to win any major trophy in his second season at the club. This was after he had lifted the League Cup and the Premier League after coming into the English football for the first time. Even though City failed to win any major honour, the way in which is succumbed in every competition was also very disappointing. Even though Pellegrini has some of the top players like Bacary Sagna at his disposal, he was unable to get the best out of them.

Some have laid the blame on players like Yaya Touré, who have not performed up to their 100%. After having conducted talks with several club officials, City have come to the conclusion to retain Pellegrini according toKhaldoon Al Mubarak. In addition, the club are planning to flex their muscles in the summer transfer window. A day after the announcement from the club chairman, City made a £ 25 million offer for Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling. However, it is understood that the Merseyside outfit value the player at around £ 50 million, but City are sure to come with an improved offer.

"Every year we look back at the season and conduct our reviews. We discuss the pros, the cons, what has worked, what hasn't worked, what needs to be improved. We've done that already this year. I can say Manuel is as disappointed as we are with the results of the past year, he's very clear in his assessment of what's worked and what hasn't worked and what needs to be improved - and I agree with him.So let's leave the last season behind us, focus on next year,” saidAl Mubarak.
