LUKAKU FITS BARCELONA SQUAD - KOEMAN

Everton’s boss Ronald Koeman claims Romelu Lukaku is capable of brilliantly delivering the job of a forward in Barcelona squad.

The Belgium international has rapidly improved into one of the most lethal strikers in the Premier League in recent seasons and has frequently been linked with a move to a bigger club.

Koeman has likened Lukaku to former Barca forward, Patrick Kluivert and believes he could as well enjoy a prestigious football career as the Netherlands icon did. "Lukaku has the potential to become an amazing striker that gives defenders tough time. He is still only 23 years old and is only getting better," Koeman told HLN.

"I suppose his finishing is very beautiful. He maintains his calm and is one of the best I have ever met, both as a player and as a coach when it comes to making that final decision in front of goal.

“His attacking movement is superb. I think he can still contribute more defensively as well and such attributes is what Barcelona needed."

The coach also said that he thinks Lukaku can emulate Patrick Kluivert, who also rose to prominence at a young age and enjoyed a fantastic career as he ultimately played for Barcelona which he can see Lukaku doing the same.

He hopes Everton should normally not be the end for him. Meanwhile, Koeman has insisted that Lukaku will not have made the most of his career if he plays for Everton for the remainder of his career because he has the potential to play for a bigger club than Everton.

Barcelona have brilliant strikers that are capable of putting Lukaku on bench. So far, there are no reports currently linking the Belgian to the Spanish club as Barcelona are steadily maintaining their good form after the unexpected loss to Man City.
