SAGNE RULED OUT

Bacary Sagna will not be able to feature for Arsenal in their next Premier League game against Hull City which is going to take place tomorrow at the Emirates Stadium. The reason behind his unavailability is his hamstring injury.

However, it has been made clear by the Arsenal management that the injury is a minor one and the 30 years old defender should be back soon.

Sagna has been an important player for the Gunners in the ongoing season. He has put up match winning shows for them and he is certainly going to be missed, but, Arsenal is lucky enough to have quality players like Carl Jenkinson as backups.

Mathieu Flamini can also play as fullback, but, he has played a major part in the midfield for the Gunners in the recent matches and it doesn’t seem that Arsene Wenger would like to change his position. So, it’s Jenkinson who is almost certain to be given a playing opportunity.

Talking to the reporters in the press conference earlier today, Wenger said, “I think we will go into tomorrow’s game without Sagna who is injured.”

“When you put in so much effort, you can suffer injuries like these. There is nothing serious. He should be alright in a few days.”

Meanwhile, there is some good news too for the Gunners. Their striker Lukas Podolski who has not featured for them since the last 3 months is expected to start training in a couple of days.

The last game that Podolski had played for Arsenal was against the Turkish club Fenerbahce in the last week of August. That was a Champions League game and the Gunners had won that match by a profound margin of 2-0.

Arsenal is currently the Premier League table topper with 31 points.
