Bacary Sagna’s Observation on Arsenal’s Performance
The best right-back of the English Premier League Bacary Sagna has talked about the decision of leaving Arsenal 6 years after he executed the plan in 2014. He said that he was feeling insecure as the club was making a delay to talk to him about the extension of his contract. Being one of the best defenders of the English Premier League, Sagna performed most consistently during the 2013-14 session. As Sagna played for the club for 7 years, he appeared 284 times for Arsenal from 2007 to 2014.
Then he left the club in 2014 and joined Manchester City. There he played till 2017 and made 54 appearances for the club. The French Footballer also played for his country in two World Cup tournaments as well as UEFA European Championship. Arsenal decided to sell the Netherlands footballer Robin Van Persie as Manchester United wanted him. On the other hand, the selling of Alex Song to Barcelona also put a great impact on the decision of leaving the club by Sagna. According to Sagna, he was clueless about why the club let these two gems leave the club as they were playing very well.
As per his words, it was a mistake of the club to recruit a new player in place of such experienced campaigners. As these two players were seasoned and were among goals, it was nothing but a bad move by the club. Whoever would have come to the club as a new joiner, he would have taken a decent amount of time to adjust to the environment of the club. Many of the critics say that Sagna left the club to have some a bigger contract but Sagna refused their analysis. He moved to Manchester City being the latest recruitment of the club after many renowned names in the line.
