Bacary Sagna had good appearance for Arsenal Team

The French defender Bacary Sagna was able to make over 20 appearances for Arsenal since he joined the team of Arsene Wenger on July of 2007.

It’s believed that Arsenal had to pay Auxerre around €10 million in order to secure the services of the right-back but it turned out to be one of the best signings in the history of the Premier League club as Sagna went on to make more than 200 appearances for Arsenal during his 7 year long stay at the Emirates Stadium.

Bacary Sagna was a consistent and reliable defensive option for Arsenal as a player that could be utilized in the heart of the defence and not only as a right-back; there were no doubt that the money spent on signing Sagna did not go to waste.

During the last season of Sagna with Arsenal, the French defender wanted an upgrade in his wages but it never happened as a deal could never be completed and Sagna instead decided to join Manchester City on a free transfer or at least this is what the rumors are stating as to why Sagna decided to leave Arsenal.

The problem that has occurred from this transfer is that BacarySagna left a club where his chances of playing in the main team were guaranteed and joined a team that already has a designated player in the right-back position which is Pablo Zabaleta.

Another issue this caused is Arsenal’s inability of finding a proper replacement. Mathieu Debuchy was expected to be the successor of Bacary Sagna but Debuchy picked up an injury that is will be leaving him out of action at least until December and now Arsene Wenger is going to have to keep an eye out in the January transfer window in order to see if he can find an appropriate defender that can help solve some of their defensive problems they have been facing recently.
