Christian Karembeu believes Paul Pogba is ready for Real Madrid move

Former Real Madrid midfielder Christian Karembeu believes Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is ready to take up the challenge with Los Blancos. The France international has been heavily linked with a move to the Spanish giants this summer with manager Zinedine Zidane keen on reinforcing the squad with a world-class midfielder.

Speaking to El Mundo, Karembeu said that Pogba is obviously one of the best midfielders in the world and he appears prepared for a bigger challenge with the 13-time European champions, he told the Spanish outlet:"Hopefully. He is a great player, and Zizou knows him from Juventus. He is ready for Madrid, although he will have to prove it. That shirt weighs a lot."

So far, Los Blancos have not made an approach to pursue the Frenchman, but they should be invited to do so, considering the midfielder has recently admitted that he could part ways with the Red Devils. Nonetheless, any move may not be straightforward and the World Cup winner may have to present a transfer request to push through a move away from Old Trafford.

Los Blancos have been ultra-active during the summer and they have already pursued the signature of five players including Eden Hazard for a combined £270m. The spending is likely to continue with Zidane keen on pursuing a couple of more recruits, though the club may now seek to offload some o the players from the club’s ranks.

Gareth Bale and Isco are some of the big names fancied to head through the exit door and the former’s position appears more feeble at the moment. The Welshman struggled to even make the matchday squad during the final weeks of the previous season under Zidane and there are major doubts whether he can win over the manager with a strong pre-season showing.
