SAGNA LEFT UNIMPRESSED BY FABREGAS
It's safe to say that Bacary Sagna was left disappointed by the comments credited to former Arsenal teammate Cesc Fabregas during an interview granted last year. Bacary Sagna fumed at the Spaniard for undermining the abilities of the other players at the club when they were both on the payroll of the Gunners.
AS Monaco playmaker Cesc Fabregas had told Arseblog podcast that he felt only Samir Nasri and Robin Van Persie were on his level mentally and technically during his time at Arsenal. His comments didn't sit well with BacarySagna, who told popular media outlet that Cesc Fabregas should know better as the team skipper.
Cesc Fabregas and BacarySagna played together from 2007 to 2011 before the Spanish international left the Gunners to return to Barcelona. Fabregas had left his boyhood club Barcelona to sign for Arsenal in 2003. He was in the famed La Masia Academy when the Gunners made a big transfer coup to sign him and he went on to show his qualities for the Gunners. Cesc Fabregas left Arsenal as the club's skipper and his position was taken up by Robin Van Persie. BacarySagna met Cesc Fabregas at Arsenal following his move from Auxerre in his native France. The quest to win trophies and the desire to play for football idol Pep Guardiola prompted Cesc Fabregas to leave the club in the summer of 2011. A lot of Arsenal fans were sad as they had lost an influential player to Barcelona only for him to return to the Premier League to play for London rivals Chelsea. His move to Chelsea left several Arsenal fans disappointed. Fabregas didn't win the Premier League title at Arsenal but he was able to win it twice at Chelsea before he left the club to join French giants AS Monaco two years ago.
