SAGNA RULED OUT

Bacary Sagna has injured his hamstring and he will not be able to give his services to Arsenal in their next Premier League game against West Bromwich Albion. Sagna picked up this injury while playing in the Champions League game against Napoli on Tuesday.

Sagna will not feature for Arsenal for the next 20 days or so which means he will miss the game against Norwich City and perhaps, the Champions League fixture against Borussia Dortmund too.

Talking to the reporters yesterday, the manager of Arsenal, Arsene Wenger, confirmed Sagna’s unavailability for the next 3 weeks.

Wenger said, “Bacary will not be available for the next 3 weeks. He is a quality player and losing him is certainly a big blow for us. Hopefully, Carl Jenkinson will make use of this opportunity and put up a good show against West Brom.”

Wenger admitted that his side can still improve with Chelsea coming close to them quickly.

The Arsenal manager said, “Chelsea is pretty close to us and they have already faced some tough teams.”

“I think we can still perform better. It all depends on our hunger for the title.”

Meanwhile, because of his hamstring injury, Sagna will be an absentee in France’s next couple of international games as well.

France has to play against Australia and Finland in the next 10 days. The match against Australia is a friendly one and will take place on 11th of this month and then, after 4 days, the French team will play a World Cup qualifier against Finland at Stade de France.

For those two games, Rod Fanni has been included in the French team on the place of Sagna.

France is currently at the second position in the Group I points table with 14 points in 7 matches.
