ARTETA: SAGNA SPEAKS ON INVERTED FULLBACK

Ex-Arsenal defender BacarySagna has disclosed what Gunners boss Mikel Arteta wants from his fullbacks. BacarySagna talked about Arteta and Arsenal in an exclusive interview with Football London. According to BacarySagna, Arteta wants an inverted fullback style for his fullbacks just like what is employed by Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. Arteta was the assistant manager to Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium for some years and he's like a mentor to the Arsenal manager.

BacarySagna also talked about patience for what Gunners boss Arteta is trying to achieve in North London. Sagna and Arteta were teammates at Arsenal for some years and the Frenchman believes that theSpaniard is the right man to take the club to the next level.

Arsenal had a disappointing season under Arteta last season as they finished in eighth spot on the Premier League table. To this effect, they failed to qualify for European football for the first time in 25 years. Also, Arteta and his players started this season with three straight defeats in the league but they have picked up in recent weeks and are on a run of eight games without defeat.
After staying rooted at the bottom of the league for a few weeks last month, Arsenal are in the top half after the 3-1 win over Aston Villa thanks to the goals from Thomas Partey, Pierre-EmerickAubameyang and Emile Smith-Rowe.
Partey scored the first goal of his Arsenal career to give the Gunners the lead against Villa. The Ghanaian midfielder scored via his head from a Smith-Rowe corner kick.Club skipper Aubameyang scored the rebound from his saved penalty at the end of the first half to double the advantage for his team.
Smith-Rowe then scored a third Arsenal goal in the second half before Villa substitute Jacob Ramsey scored a consolation goal in the last ten minutes.
Arsenal are in tenth position on the Premier League table after the win over Villa. They have 14 points from nine games.
